Try to Understand
She glances my way with saddened eyes,
a combination of fear and abandonment. How could you leave me?
she silently pleads with the turn of her gaze.Out the window, the dirty floor -
she'll look anywhere but my face.I don't deserve it,
she thinks.Little does she know, this is for her own good.
I couldn't take her with me.I couldn't leave her home.
This is only temporary. For how long?
I can't say;An unknown to the world,
likely longer than we hope.Isn't he good to you?
Her frigid glare makes me wonderShe turns away, now leaving me lonely
the way I left her.If only she knew...
but then it hit me:Cats don't understand pandemics.
